About Dawn
Dawn Ward has been practicing all aspects of family law throughout California since 1990, and has been a Certified Specialist in Family Law for the past twenty years. An experienced and capable litigator when necessary, she recognizes the invaluable benefit of helping parties stay out of the courtroom by reaching thoughtful and reasonable settlements. Assisting divorcing parties to focus on their children’s best interests rather than their own conflict is particularly rewarding. She has worked with clients in mediation for decades, and has received training in collaborative practice as another model to help families divorce with respect.
A former member of the San Mateo County Commission on Disabilities, Dawn has extensive experience with issues and services related to both children and adults with special needs. Her legal practice has included cases involving members of these vulnerable populations, such as guardianships and conservatorships (general, limited, and LPS).
Dawn received her undergraduate degree from University of California at Berkeley, and her law degree from Berkeley Law (formerly Boalt Hall).
